Introduction
Zotide One Injection is a man-made version of parathyroid hormone used to treat men and postmenopausal women with severe osteoporosis at high risk of fractures. It stimulates new bone formation, improving bone density and decreasing the risk of spinal fractures. Common side effects are not listed, but patients should be aware of potential symptoms of high calcium levels such as nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Directions for Use
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
How it works
Zotide One Injection is a synthetic form of a natural human hormone called parathyroid hormone (PTH). It works by increasing the number and activity of bone-forming cells (osteoblasts), strengthening the bones and minimizing the risk of fractures.
Quick Tips
Zotide One Injection should be injected every day under the skin (subcutaneous injection) of the thigh or abdomen. Do not take it for more than 2 years. You may have low blood pressure and dizziness during the initial few days. If you feel dizzy (light-headed) after injection, sit or lie down until you feel better. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness. These may be signs of high calcium levels in your blood. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or plan to become pregnant.
