Zotide Injection should be injected every day under the skin (subcutaneous injection) of the thigh or abdomen. Do not take it for more than 2 years. You may have low blood pressure and dizziness during the initial few days. If you feel dizzy (light-headed) after injection, sit or lie down until you feel better. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience nausea, vomiting, constipation, low energy, or muscle weakness. These may be signs of high calcium levels in your blood. Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or plan to become pregnant.
Zotide Injection is not a steroid. It is used to treat osteoporosis caused by long-term use of steroids, but it has different mechanism than steroids.
The recommended treatment course with Zotide Injection is 2 years. It's essential to inform your doctor about any previous treatments you've received, as the maximum allowed duration of treatment should not exceed 24 months per lifetime.
Always store this medicine in a refrigerator at a temperature between 2°C and 8°C. Avoid placing the Zotide Injection pens near the ice compartment, as freezing can damage the medication. It can be used for up to 28 days after the first injection if the pen is not empty.
