Zole-F Lotion is a combination medicine used to treat various types of skin infections, usually fungal, by minimizing symptoms of inflammation and acting against infection-causing microorganisms.
Lotion
Zole-F Lotion is only meant for external use and should be used as advised by your doctor. A thin layer of the medicine should be applied only to the affected areas of the skin with clean and dry hands. If it gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, or vagina, rinse with water. It may take several days to weeks for your symptoms to improve, but you should keep using this medicine regularly. The course of the treatment should be completed to ensure better efficacy of the medicine. If your condition does not improve or gets worse, you should talk to your doctor.
This medicine is for external use only. Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Shake it well and apply to the area evenly.
Zole-F Lotion is a combination of two medicines: Fluocinolone acetonide and Miconazole. Fluocinolone acetonide is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Miconazole is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi on the skin by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
Keep your feet clean and dry Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use Use a separate clean towel for the feet and wear clean cotton socks Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better
Zole-F Lotion is a topical antifungal medication prescribed to treat various skin infections, including athlete's foot, jock itch, and sweat rash (which can be infected with yeast). It also helps address candidiasis (skin or nail infection caused by Candida).
No, Zole-F Lotion is not a steroid cream. It belongs to the imidazole class of antifungal medications and works by killing the fungi that cause these infections or by preventing their growth.
Common side effects include application site burning, redness, and itching. Uncommon side effects may include discomfort, dryness, bleeding, severe allergic reactions (like hives or rashes), skin exfoliation, sticky skin, prickling sensation, or inflammation.
It is recommended to use a mild steroid ointment like hydrocortisone cream/ointment in the morning and apply Zole-F Lotion in the evening. Gradually taper off using the steroid cream over 2-3 weeks. If you have used a potent corticosteroid for seborrheic dermatitis, maintain at least a two-week gap before applying Zole-F Lotion to prevent skin sensitization.
Wash the affected area thoroughly with water and dry it. Wash your hands carefully (until and unless your hands are also affected) after applying Zole-F Lotion to prevent infection spread.
You should continue using Zole-F Lotion for as long as recommended by your doctor. It is typically used for 2-4 weeks for jock itch and sweat rash, and 2-6 weeks for athlete's foot. Do not stop using it even if your symptoms have disappeared, as the infection may reappear if not properly treated.
If you forget to use Zole-F Lotion, do not worry and continue using it as soon as possible. If you are unsure or have other concerns, consult your doctor.
