Suspension
Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections targeting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. It kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect Discontinue Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing Only give Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension to your child for their current infection
An extra dose of Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect your child has received an excessive dose, consult with their doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
If your child does not show improvement after taking Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension for the recommended duration, it may indicate that the medicine is not effective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult with your child's doctor, who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic that is more effective. Not all antibiotics are administered orally; some may require intravenous injection in a hospital setting.
Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension may interact with other medications or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension. Additionally, consult with your child's doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Inform your child's doctor if your child has a pre-existing condition, such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy to sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. This is because Zocin 50mg/5ml Suspension may exacerbate these conditions and lead to complications.
