Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that treats bacterial infections in children and adolescents.
Tablet DT
Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet is an antibiotic medicine that treats bacterial infections that may affect your child's eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, bone and joints, gastrointestinal tract, and urinary tract. It can also be used in treating typhoid fever in children and adolescents.
Give this medicine with food to avoid an upset stomach. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect.
Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet contains two antibiotics. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) while ofloxacin directly interacts with the genetic material of bacteria. As a consequence, the infection-causing bacteria stop growing further and the spread of the infection is successfully arrested.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Only give Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses. Stop this medicine and immediately report to your child's doctor in case your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties while taking this medicine.
If you accidentally give your child more than the recommended dose of Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet, do not panic. However, it's essential to be vigilant and monitor your child for any potential side effects or worsening of their condition. If you suspect an overdose, please consult with a doctor immediately.
Serious side effects associated with Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet may include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, severe gastrointestinal infections, and allergic reactions. If your child experiences any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
When taking Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet, inform your doctor about any other medications or substances your child is currently using. Additionally, consult with their doctor before giving any new medicine to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet typically does not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, it's recommended that your child wait until they recover from their illness before receiving a vaccination.
Children taking antibiotics like Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet may experience stomach upset or diarrhea due to the elimination of good bacteria. If your child develops diarrhea while on this medication, consult with their doctor for guidance rather than stopping the treatment.
Misuse or irregular use of Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet can contribute to the development of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This is because the infection-causing bacteria may adapt and no longer be affected by the medication, potentially leading to reinfection.
Before administering Zifi-O 100 DT Tablet, inform your child's doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions they may have, such as heart disease, genetic disorders, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photodermatitis, or rheumatoid arthritis. This will help the doctor assess potential risks and provide guidance for safe treatment.
