Introduction
Zeplatt-NT Tablet is a combination medicine used for the treatment of neuropathic pain. This medicine decreases the pain by stopping the movement of pain signals to the brain.
Directions for Use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zeplatt-NT Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How it works
Zeplatt-NT Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Nortriptyline. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases the pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant which increases the levels of chemical messengers (serotonin and noradrenaline) that stop the movement of pain signals in the brain. Together they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).
Quick Tips
Zeplatt-NT Tablet is used to treat certain types of long-lasting pain caused by damage to nerves. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other pain-relieving medicines. Along with taking this medicine, your doctor might advise you to undergo physiotherapy to get relief from pain. Avoid taking antacids 2 hours before or after taking Zeplatt-NT Tablet as they make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine.

What is Zeplatt-NT Tablet?
Zeplatt-NT Tablet is a combination of Gabapentin and Nortriptyline used to treat nerve pain (neuropathic pain). This medication calms damaged or overactive nerves by acting on the brain, thereby decreasing pain sensations.
Can I stop taking Zeplatt-NT Tablet when my pain is relieved?
No, you should not stop taking Zeplatt-NT Tablet even if your pain is relieved. Continue to take it as advised by your doctor. If you suddenly stop taking Zeplatt-NT Tablet, you may experience withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, sleep difficulties, nausea, pain, and sweating. You may need to gradually taper the dose before stopping the medication completely.
How can I manage weight gain associated with using Zeplatt-NT Tablet?
Zeplatt-NT Tablet can increase hunger, potentially leading to increased calorie intake and weight gain. However, preventing weight gain is easier than reversing it. Try eating a healthy, balanced diet without increasing portion sizes (per-meal intake). Avoid food items high in calories, such as soda, oily food, chips, cakes, biscuits, and sweets. If you feel hungry between meals, avoid junk food and eat fruits, vegetables, and low-calorie options. Regular exercise can help prevent weight gain. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercising regularly may minimize the risk of weight gain.
Can Zeplatt-NT Tablet affect my sexual life?
Using Zeplatt-NT Tablet might affect both men's and women's sexual lives. Common issues include decreased sexual desire, erectile dysfunction (inability to achieve or maintain an erection during sexual activity), difficulty reaching orgasm, and reduced satisfaction during intercourse. Discuss these problems with your doctor but don't stop taking the medication.
Are there any serious side effects associated with using Zeplatt-NT Tablet?
Serious side effects from Zeplatt-NT Tablet are uncommon and rare. Consult your doctor immediately if you notice: drastic changes in body temperature, difficulty breathing, increased heartbeat (palpitations), weakness, unsteadiness when walking, double vision, slurred speech, diarrhea, confusion, blurred vision, dizziness, fluctuations in body temperature (high and low), difficulties with breathing, or an increased heart rate.
What should I avoid while taking Zeplatt-NT Tablet?
Zeplatt-NT Tablet may impair your thinking or reaction speed. Be cautious when driving, operating machinery, working at heights, or participating in potentially dangerous activities during the early stages of treatment until you know how it affects you. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication as it can amplify its effects and pose safety risks.
How often should I see my doctor?
Regular checkups are recommended if you're starting to take Zeplatt-NT Tablet. However, consult your doctor immediately if the recommended dosage does not improve your symptoms or if you continue experiencing unwanted side effects that interfere with your daily activities.
Will Zeplatt-NT Tablet make me feel sleepy or drowsy?
Yes, Zeplatt-NT Tablet may cause drowsiness. Sudden sleep episodes can occur without warning, and it's crucial to avoid driving, operating machinery, working at heights, or engaging in potentially dangerous activities until you understand the medication's effects on you.
Does taking more than the recommended dose of Zeplatt-NT Tablet increase effectiveness?
Taking a higher than recommended dose will not necessarily increase effectiveness. It might even increase the risk of serious side effects and toxicity. If your symptoms worsen after taking the prescribed dose, consult with your doctor for re-evaluation.
