Dry Syrup
Yevozen CV Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic made up of two active medicines. It is given to children to treat a wide range of severe bacterial infections targeting the ear, sinus, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Yevozen CV Dry Syrup is a potent antibiotic comprising two active medicines: Cefixime and Clavulanic acid. Cefixime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is essential for the survival of the bacteria. By doing so, this medicine stops the infection-causing bacteria from growing and prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment. The second ingredient, clavulanic acid, is a beta-lactamase inhibitor. It reduces resistance and enhances the activity of cefixime against bacteria.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect Never give Yevozen CV Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor Do not give Yevozen CV Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses Stop Yevozen CV Dry Syrup immediately if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty
If you suspect an overdose, immediately consult a doctor. Although an extra dose of Yevozen CV Dry Syrup is unlikely to cause harm, overdoses can increase the risk of unwanted side effects and potentially worsen your child's condition.
Serious side effects of this medicine include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your child's doctor for guidance.
Yevozen CV Dry Syrup may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before starting Yevozen CV Dry Syrup, and consult with your child's doctor before giving any additional medication.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
The color of mucus does not indicate the type of infection your child has. Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily require antibiotics. During a common cold, symptoms typically last 7-10 days, and mucus texture and color may change.
No. More than 80% of sore throats and ear infections are caused by viruses, and antibiotics are not prescribed for viral infections. If your child exhibits symptoms such as a sore throat, runny nose, barky cough, pain, and ear discharge, it is likely due to a virus. Consult your child's doctor for guidance.
