Check the medicine's 'expiry' date before using it. Do not give more than the recommended dose as it can lead to side effects. Do not use it more than 3 times a day. Prolonged use and abrupt stoppage of Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops can lead to complications. Follow the doctor's prescription carefully. Encourage your child to inhale the steam as it may help relieve symptoms.
Do not administer Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops to your child for more than 10 consecutive days, as this may lead to complications such as "atrophic rhinitis". It is also crucial to follow the prescribed dosing schedule and avoid abrupt discontinuation of the medication, as this can cause rebound congestion in your child.
An overdose of Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops can lead to severe symptoms such as dizziness, sweating, low body temperature, headache, bradycardia (slow heart rate), hypertension (high blood pressure), respiratory depression (breathing difficulties), coma, and convulsions. Additionally, children are more sensitive to toxicity than adults; therefore, it is vital to contact your child's doctor immediately in case of overdose.
Before applying Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops, ensure your child clears their nose by blowing gently. Have your child lie down with their head tilted back as far as comfortable, or if lying on a bed, keep the head over the side. Open the medicine bottle's cap and without touching the nozzle to the child's nose, apply the drops into each nostril. After application, have your child maintain the head tilt for a short time to allow the drops to spread throughout their nose. Replace the cap immediately after use. If the drop misses the nose completely, administer the drop again, but do not repeat the administration if any part of the drop enters the nose.
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience symptoms such as insomnia, dizziness, tremor, irregular heartbeat, or elevated blood pressure after using Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops.
Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops might interact with certain medications or substances. Consult your doctor about any other medications your child is taking before administering Xylotop P 0.05% Nasal Drops. Additionally, always seek your child's doctor's guidance before administering any medicine to your child.
For optimal nasal drainage during sleep, ensure your child lies on their back with a pillow for support. Avoid letting them sleep on their side, as this may worsen congestion in one or both nostrils.
