An overdose of Xylopen Paediatric 0.05% Nasal Drops can cause significant side effects, including dizziness, profuse sweating, a sudden drop in body temperature, headache, bradycardia (slow heart rate), hypertension (high blood pressure), respiratory depression (difficulty breathing), coma, and convulsions. High blood pressure could be followed by a subsequent fall in blood pressure. Children are more sensitive to medication toxicity than adults, so immediate consultation with your child's doctor is necessary if an overdose occurs.
Before administering the medicine, ensure your child clears their nose by gently blowing. Have them lie down and tilt their head back as far as comfortably possible. If lying on a bed, keep the head elevated over one side. Open the medication bottle cap and, without touching the nozzle to the nostril, apply the drops into each nostril. After administering, hold the head tilted back for a short time to allow the drops to spread throughout the nose. Replace the cap right away after use. If the drop misses the nose completely, administer the drop again. Do not administer again if any part of the drop enters the nose. Repeat this process for the other nostril. Clean and dry the nozzle before replacing the cap right after use. To avoid potential infections, only one person should use the bottle.
Contact your child's doctor immediately if your child experiences any of the following symptoms: insomnia, dizziness, tremor, irregular heartbeat, or elevated blood pressure after using Xylopen Paediatric 0.05% Nasal Drops.
It is essential to inform your child's doctor about any other medications or substances your child may be taking before starting Xylopen Paediatric 0.05% Nasal Drops. It is also crucial to consult with a medical professional for guidance on administering any medicine to your child.
To assist in clearing congestion, have your child lie flat on their back with a pillow under their head. Avoid sleeping on the side as this may intensify nasal congestion in one or both nostrils.
