Xintof M Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections.
Syrup
Xintof M Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that is effective against a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. In children, it is used to treat infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again, become resistant, or cause another infection.
Xintof M Syrup is an antibiotic having ofloxacin and metronidazole as its active ingredients. Both these medicines damage the DNA of the infection-causing bacteria, thus killing it by stopping its growth. This prevents the infection from spreading without making the bacteria resistant to further treatment.
If your child develops diarrhea as a side effect, encourage them to drink plenty of water. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child experiences an altered taste. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid to your child within 2 hours of taking Xintof M Syrup as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Xintof M Syrup and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Never save the medicine for future illnesses since its effectiveness in future infections cannot be guaranteed.
If you suspect an overdose, immediately consult a doctor. Overdose can lead to severe side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, blood cell abnormalities, and rapid and irregular heartbeat. If you notice any of these symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
If your child's condition does not improve, consult their doctor. They may recommend an alternative antibiotic with a more targeted action against the infection-causing bacteria.
Xintof M Syrup may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking and seek their advice before giving any additional medicines.
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions. However, it is recommended to wait until your child has recovered from the illness before receiving a vaccine.
Inform the doctor if your child has a pre-existing condition such as heart disease, genetic disorders involving blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis, as Xintof M Syrup may exacerbate these conditions.
Yes, it is normal. The active ingredient metronidazole in Xintof M Syrup can cause red-brown urine, which is a harmless side effect that will resolve once the treatment is completed.
No, do not give Xintof M Syrup with cough and cold medicines, as it may interfere with their effectiveness.
