Ofloxacin (50mg/5ml)
Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, and urinary tract. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic that interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. It kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
If you think your child has taken an extra dose of Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension, contact their doctor immediately. Overdose can lead to serious side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and irregular heartbeat.
If your child's symptoms do not improve with Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension, consult their doctor. This may indicate that a different antibiotic or treatment approach is needed.
Inform your child's doctor about any medications they are currently taking before starting Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension. Additionally, check with their doctor before administering any new medicine.
Generally, antibiotics do not interact with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions. However, it is recommended to delay vaccination until the underlying illness has resolved.
Inform the doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions in your child, such as heart disease, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, or rheumatoid arthritis, as Xaflox 50mg Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions.
