How it works
Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup?
Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It is important to inform your child's doctor about any other medications they are taking before starting Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup. Consulting a healthcare professional for guidance is crucial.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics typically do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, it's best to avoid vaccination until your child recovers from any illness they may be experiencing. Once they are feeling better, the vaccine can be administered. Consult a doctor for specific recommendations.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Long-term use of this medication might require periodic monitoring of kidney and liver function to ensure your child's overall well-being. Consult with your healthcare provider regarding further testing recommendations.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup to my child?
No, exceeding the prescribed dosage of this medication may increase the likelihood of adverse effects. If your child experiences symptoms worsening or new side effects, please contact your doctor for further evaluation and potential adjustments to the treatment plan.
Can I stop giving Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
No, do not discontinue this medication before completing the full course prescribed by your healthcare provider. Even if symptoms seem to improve, continue taking the medicine as directed to ensure it can have a longer lasting effect.
Can Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Worclav-Kid Dry Syrup can contribute to diarrhea. This medication works by eliminating harmful bacteria. Additionally, it may disrupt the balance of beneficial bacteria in your child's digestive system, leading to diarrhea. Encourage them to consume plenty of fluids and consult a doctor if diarrhea persists or any signs of dehydration (decreased urination, dark-colored urine) are observed.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Most times, bacterial infections don't follow viral infections. Giving antibiotics in cases of a viral infection can increase the risk of side effects. Consult your child's doctor before considering antibiotic treatment.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose doesn't necessarily indicate a need for antibiotics. During a common cold, mucus typically thickens and changes color from clear to yellow or green as part of the normal healing process. Symptoms usually subside within 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulties, skin rashes), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). While these side effects are rare, prompt medical attention is crucial.
