Welox M Oral Suspension is a medicine used to treat bacterial infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Welox M Oral Suspension is given to children for the treatment of bacterial infections of the teeth, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and genital tract. This medicine is also given as an empirical antibiotic for infected diarrhea mixed with blood and serious infections like peritonitis.
Make sure your child drinks plenty of water if diarrhea occurs. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help if your child has an altered taste or furry tongue. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Welox M Oral Suspension.
No common side effects listed.
Welox M Oral Suspension is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole, are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. It aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.
Do not give this medicine for the common cold and flu as they are caused by viruses and Welox M Oral Suspension treats only bacterial infections. Discontinue Welox M Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Welox M Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
