Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic medicine commonly given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections targeting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, skin, abdomen and urinary tract. It is also part of the multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) treatment regimen.
Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. In case of any confusion, do consult your doctor. Do not double the dose to catch up.
Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is an antibiotic. It interferes with the genetic material of bacteria by implanting defects in its DNA. These defects hamper the multiplication of the bacteria and affect its survival as well. Thus, it kills the infection-causing bacteria from growing further and prevents the infection from spreading without making them resistant to further treatment.
Do not panic. You can give the medicine as soon as you remember unless your child's doctor has advised a specific regime for your child. Do not double the dose to catch up. Do not give any calcium, magnesium, iron, vitamin, or antacid within 2 hours of taking Welox 50mg Oral Suspension as these can affect the absorption of the medicine. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Conditions like common cold and flu are caused by viruses. Never use this medicine for such conditions. Discontinue Welox 50mg Oral Suspension and inform the doctor immediately if your child develops a rash, itchy skin, swelling of face and mouth, or has difficulty in breathing. Only give Welox 50mg Oral Suspension to your child for their current infection. Never save medicine for future illnesses.
An extra dose of Welox 50mg Oral Suspension is unlikely to cause harm. However, if you suspect your child has received an excessive dose, consult a doctor immediately. Overdose may lead to unwanted side effects such as seizures, tremors, severe headache, sudden weakness, unconsciousness, and palpitations (irregularities of heartbeat). If you notice any of these symptoms, rush to your child's doctor for immediate attention.
If your child does not show improvement after taking Welox 50mg Oral Suspension for the prescribed duration, it may indicate that the medicine is ineffective against the infection-causing bacteria. In this case, consult your child's doctor, who may prescribe an alternative antibiotic that is more effective. Not all medicines are given orally; some may require intravenous administration in a hospital setting.
Welox 50mg Oral Suspension may interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Welox 50mg Oral Suspension. Additionally, consult your child's doctor before giving any other medicine to your child.
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive vaccinations until they have recovered from their illness. Once your child feels better, the vaccine can be administered.
Inform your doctor if your child has a pre-existing heart condition, genetic disorders affecting blood vessels, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy, neuromuscular disorders, or rheumatoid arthritis. Welox 50mg Oral Suspension may exacerbate these conditions, leading to complications.
