Introduction

VSL 3 Capsule is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should take this medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. Consult a doctor while taking any other medicine especially steroids or antibiotics along with this medicine. The most common side effects are bloating and flatulence. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. Before taking this medicine you should let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney problems. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. VSL 3 Capsule may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Steroids (medications that weaken the immune system)

VSL 3 Capsule is a probiotic. It contains healthy bacteria that stick to the walls of the digestive tract. This forms a barrier that protects the inner layer of the gut against harmful bacteria and other toxic substances that may upset your digestive system.

Take VSL 3 Capsule at least 2 hours before or after antibiotics. This is because taking VSL 3 Capsule along with the antibiotics can reduce their effectiveness. Avoid taking VSL 3 Capsule along with steroids (medications that weaken the immune system) as they might increase the chances of getting sick. Notify your doctor if you are pregnant. Notify your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
