Frequently asked questions
What is Voner 1500mcg Injection?
Voner 1500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12, an essential nutrient required for the body to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also plays a role in releasing energy from food and utilizing Vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why can't I get sufficient vitamin B12 through my diet?
While certain foods naturally provide Vitamin B12, such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products, individuals who follow vegetarian or vegan diets may experience difficulty obtaining sufficient Vitamin B12. This is because vitamin B12 is not found in plants like fruits, vegetables, and grains. Therefore, deficiency of Vitamin B12 can be common in these groups.
What happens if I have a vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest as fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormally large size of red blood cells). Other symptoms may include nerve problems such as tingling and numbness in the hands and feet. Additionally, individuals with a deficiency might experience difficulties with balance, depression, confusion, dementia, memory impairment, and pain or irritation in the mouth or tongue.
Is Voner 1500mcg Injection safe?
Generally considered safe. However, it's important to be aware of possible rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia (loss of appetite), and rash. If a rash occurs, discontinue the use of this medicine immediately.
How should Voner 1500mcg Injection be administered?
Voner 1500mcg Injection can be injected either intravenously (directly into a vein) or intramuscularly (into a muscle). The typical dose is 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Voner 1500mcg Injection), and it's given three times a week for the initial phase of treatment. Subsequently, after two months, a dose of 1 ampoule (0.5 mg) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Voner 1500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the same site each time. If you experience intense pain while injecting or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-inject at a different location.
