During radiotherapy, chemotherapy, abdominal infection, or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body start releasing a chemical called serotonin directly into the blood. Later, this stimulates special centers in the body that are responsible for inducing vomiting in your child. Giving Vomishield Oral Solution just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.
Vomishield Oral Solution effectively controls nausea and bouts of vomiting reflex in children undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy sessions. It is fast-acting and starts working within 30 minutes. Practice self-care measures: Give plenty of fluids to your child to avoid dehydration Ensure that your child eats slowly and in small proportions. Give your child fried and spicy food or heavy meals to your child.
Vomishield Oral Solution is generally administered before major surgical procedures or chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. It helps prevent vomiting after such procedures in children. Additionally, it can be used to treat nausea caused by stomach illnesses. The doctor may prescribe it for a few days to manage these conditions.
While accidental overdose of Vomishield Oral Solution is unlikely to cause major harm, seeking immediate medical attention is crucial. Excessive intake can potentially lead to serotonin syndrome, characterized by symptoms such as excessive sleepiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerking, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures. If these symptoms occur, consult a doctor immediately.
Vomishield Oral Solution should be kept at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. All medicines should be out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
Vomishield Oral Solution may interact with other medications or substances. Consult your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting treatment with Vomishield Oral Solution. Additionally, it is essential to speak with your child's doctor before administering any new medicine.
Contact your child's doctor immediately if they exhibit symptoms of serotonin syndrome, such as irregular heartbeat, green-colored vomiting, difficulty passing gas, pale skin and eyes, dark-colored urine, restlessness, and insomnia.
Avoid combining Vomishield Oral Solution with medications meant to treat depression or migraines due to the risk of serotonin syndrome. Please consult your child's doctor before administering any new medicine.
