Dosage Form

Cream

Introduction

VG Can Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. The effects of this medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry and washing hands before and after treating the infection. If you have an athlete's foot, wash your socks or tights thoroughly and change your shoes daily if possible. Some of the common side effects include skin irritation, redness, or itching at the site of application. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. Some people have a severe allergic reaction that needs urgent medical attention. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, swallowing or breathing problems, dizziness and nausea. Get emergency help if this happens. How it works

VG Can Cream is an antifungal medication which treats skin infections. It works by killing the fungi on the skin by destroying their cell membrane.

Quick Tips

Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Keep your vagina clean and dry. Use a separate clean towel for the infected area. Take a shower with antifungal soap after gyming or severe sweating. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection does not clear up even after four weeks of treatment. If used topically on the nipple area, wash breasts before feeding your child. Do not apply VG Can Cream on cuts or burns. Keep away from children.

Frequently asked questions

What is VG Can Cream used for?

VG Can Cream is an antifungal medication prescribed to treat fungal skin infections such as ringworm (a red scaly rash on various body parts), athlete's foot (fungal infection of the feet and between the toes), fungal nappy rash, and fungal sweat rash. It also relieves vulvar irritation (external thrush) and irritation at the end of the penis, potentially associated with thrush.

What types of fungi does VG Can Cream target?

VG Can Cream effectively targets Trichophyton species, commonly responsible for ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also combats yeast known as Candida, a common cause of vaginal thrush.

When will I see improvements from using VG Can Cream?

Within a few days of treatment, you should start to experience relief from itching or soreness associated with the skin infection. However, redness and scaling may take longer to fade completely. Do not stop applying this medication before the duration advised by your doctor.

What precautions should I take when using VG Can Cream?

Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying VG Can Cream. If treating an infected foot, thoroughly wash and dry your feet, particularly between the toes, before applying the cream. Apply VG Can Cream thinly and evenly to affected areas two or three times daily.

How long should I apply VG Can Cream?

Treatment duration depends on the type of infection; for tinea infections, treatment is continued for one month. For Candida infection, at least 15 days are generally required. Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better as this may lead to a resurgence of the fungal infection.

Is VG Can Cream safe for children?

VG Can Cream is considered safe for use in children only when prescribed and administered correctly by a healthcare professional. Dosage should be adjusted based on age and weight, with minor side effects usually not significant.

Are there any measures to speed up recovery?

To promote faster recovery, keep the affected skin areas clean and dry; avoid excessive rubbing as this can damage the skin. Do not share towels or bath mats with others in case of potential infection transmission.

Does VG Can Cream affect contraception?

VG Can Cream may reduce the effectiveness of rubber contraceptives such as diaphragms and condoms. If applying to the vulva or penis, it is important to use alternative contraceptive methods for at least 5 days after treatment.
