Vestmox-LB Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Amoxycillin, Clavulanic Acid and Lactobacillus. Amoxycillin is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Amoxycillin against bacteria. This treats your infection but may upset your digestive system by killing healthy gut bacteria as well. Lactobacillus is added to restore the balance of healthy bacteria.
Vestmox-LB Tablet should not be taken by individuals with a history of allergic reactions to any penicillin or those who have experienced liver dysfunction or cholestatic jaundice due to previous use of this medicine.
Follow your doctor's instructions regarding the dosing schedule for Vestmox-LB Tablet, which can be every 8 hours or every 12 hours. It is recommended to take the tablet with a meal or snack to minimize stomach upset. Antibiotics like Vestmox-LB Tablet can sometimes cause diarrhea; if severe or lasting more than 2-3 days, consult your doctor.
It is essential to complete the full course of treatment as prescribed by your doctor. Stopping medication early may reduce its effectiveness and could lead to antibiotic resistance in bacteria.
If you have had an allergic reaction to one type of penicillin, it does not necessarily mean you are allergic to all penicillins. However, inform your doctor about any previous allergies to ensure safe treatment.
Keep the medicine in its original container or packet, tightly sealed. Store it according to the instructions provided on the packaging. Dispose of unused medication responsibly and ensure it is not accessible to pets, children, or other individuals.
