Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine used to treat roundworm and tapeworm infections in children.
Oral Suspension
Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension is an anti-worm medicine given to treat a multitude of parasitic worm infestations such as roundworm and tapeworm infections in children. It works by paralyzing and restraining the worms from absorbing the body's energy, leading to their eventual death.
Do not share your child's medicines with others and do not give anyone else's medicine to your child. Worm infections are easily spread between family members. Your doctor may recommend treatment for all family members on the same day, whether or not they have any symptoms of infection.
Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension is a mixture of two medicines: Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin works by binding to the muscle and nerve cells of worms, causing their paralysis and death. Albendazole works by keeping the worms from absorbing sugar (glucose), thereby depleting their energy level. This causes the worms to die, thereby treating your child's infection effectively.
Do not give raw or undercooked food to your child. Always give a balanced diet containing herbs, fruits, and spices of therapeutic value. Encourage your child to wash their hands with soap and water every time they use the toilet as that will help prevent cross-infection. Trim your child's nails frequently to disable any source of worm infection. Maintain a neat space and hygiene around your child. Call your child's doctor right away if the child exhibits signs of allergic reaction like rash, itching, or any other sign of infection such as fever, gum-bleeding, black or red stools, and blood in urine or vomit.
Possible signs of worm infection include an itchy bottom (rectal area), difficulty sitting, fatigue, restless sleep due to anal itching, persistent stomach pain with loss of appetite or frequent indigestion. Other concerning behaviors might include pica (eating inedible substances like dirt). If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your child's doctor as soon as possible. A stool and blood sample examination may be recommended by the doctor to confirm a diagnosis.
Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension can be administered at any time of day. Remember to offer it with a fat-containing food such as milk for easier swallowing.
Children may get infected with intestinal worms due to poor sanitation, leading to soil contamination with worm eggs. Playing in contaminated soil or drinking contaminated water are also potential transmission pathways. It's essential for your child to wash their hands thoroughly and the surfaces they touch after playing outside. Additionally, ensure proper washing of fruits and vegetables before consumption.
Store Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children and pets. Avoid freezing the medication.
Contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience vision problems, puffy eyes, severe itching all over their body, trouble walking or standing, difficulty breathing, fast heart rate. You should also seek medical attention if your child feels disoriented or confused, exhibits loss of bowel control, or complains of neck pain shortly after taking Vermikos Plus Oral Suspension.
