How it works
Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.
Quick Tips
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection. Your child may have a bitter taste in the mouth after the intake of Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup. Eating citrus fruit or sipping plenty of water or fruit juice may help. Encourage your child to drink plenty of water in case diarrhea develops as a side effect. Never give Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup until and unless prescribed by the doctor. Do not give Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup to treat common cold and flu-like symptoms caused by viruses.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup?
Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup may interact with other medications. It is important to inform your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting treatment with Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup. Always consult with a healthcare professional for guidance regarding medication combinations and dosage adjustments.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a reaction in children who have recently received vaccinations. However, it is recommended to delay vaccination until your child has recovered from the illness, and consult with their doctor regarding potential interactions. Once your child feels better, they can receive the vaccine.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
Periodically monitoring kidney and liver function through blood tests may be necessary for prolonged treatment with Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving an increased dosage of this medicine can potentially increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences worsening symptoms, consult their doctor for re-evaluation.
Can I stop giving Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
It is not recommended to discontinue treatment with this medicine until the full course of treatment is completed, even if your child feels better. Symptoms may improve before the infection has fully cleared. Continue following the medication instructions for the prescribed duration to ensure maximum benefit.
Can the use of Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Vatmox CV 457 Dry Syrup may cause diarrhea as it is an antibiotic that kills harmful bacteria. The medication can also affect the balance of helpful bacteria in your child's stomach and lead to diarrhea. Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids if experiencing diarrhea. Seek immediate medical attention if diarrhea persists and shows signs of dehydration (e.g., reduced urination with dark-colored, strong-smelling urine). Do not administer any other medications without consulting a doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
While bacterial infections do often follow viral infections, it is important to note that they are not a guaranteed outcome. Consulting with your child's healthcare professional for guidance on appropriate treatment options based on the specific symptoms and needs of your child is crucial.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose is not always a sign of a bacterial infection, although its presence may indicate an underlying issue. It's common for mucus to change color during a viral cold. The symptoms usually last around 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
Call your child's doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (breathing difficulty, skin rash), gastrointestinal infections (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). While rare, these side effects warrant professional medical attention and treatment.
