Frequently asked questions
What is Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection?
Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection is a form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient required by the body for making red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system. It's also important for releasing energy from food and using vitamin B11 (folate).
Why can’t I get sufficient vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from foods such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. Individuals who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may not receive adequate vitamin B12 as it is not naturally present in fruits, vegetables, or grains. Therefore, deficiency in vitamin B12 is more likely to occur in vegetarians or vegans.
What happens if I have vitamin B12 deficiency?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal type of red blood cell). Additionally, it may cause nerve problems such as numbness or tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms may include balance difficulties, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, and soreness of the mouth or tongue.
Is Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection safe?
Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection is generally well-tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, or rash may occur in some individuals. If a rash develops, discontinue using the medication immediately.
How should Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection be given?
Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection can be administered intravenously (into a vein) or intramuscularly (into muscle tissue). The usual dose is 1 ampoule (containing 0.5 mg of Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection), which is administered three times weekly. After two months, 1 ampoule (0.5 mg of Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection) is given every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions need to be taken when administering Vaponerv 2500mcg Injection?
Avoid injecting the medication into the same site each time. If intense pain occurs during injection, or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert it at a different location.
