You should take it regularly, at the same time each day, to get the most benefit and you should not stop unless your doctor recommends it. It is controlling your blood sugar levels and helping to prevent serious complications in the future. Vanoxy-M Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines:
You have been prescribed this combination medicine as it can control blood sugar better than metformin alone. Take it in addition to regular exercise and healthy diet to lower levels of blood sugar. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Inform your doctor about your diabetes treatment if you are due to have surgery under a general anaesthetic. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Vanoxy-M Tablet may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood.
Vanoxy-M Tablet typically does not cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). However, it may occur if calorie intake is insufficient while taking this medication. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include nausea, headache, irritability, hunger, sweating, dizziness, fast heart rate, and feelings of anxiety or shakiness. These symptoms are more likely to occur when you miss meals, drink alcohol, engage in excessive exercise, or take any other antidiabetic medications concurrently. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels is important. Carrying glucose tablets, honey, or fruit juice is recommended for emergencies.
Yes, some individuals may experience nausea and vomiting while taking Vanoxy-M Tablet. If you experience vomiting, drink plenty of water or other fluids in small, frequent sips. If vomiting persists and you notice signs of dehydration like dark-colored and strong-smelling urine, a decrease in urination frequency, talk to your doctor immediately. Do not take any additional medications without first consulting your doctor.
Individuals with known allergies to any component or excipient in Vanoxy-M Tablet should avoid its use. It is also considered unsafe for patients with severe kidney impairment, liver impairment, congestive heart failure, lactic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Store Vanoxy-M tablet in its original container or pack, tightly closed. Follow the instructions on the packaging label regarding the medication's storage duration and disposal of unused portions. It should not be consumed by pets, children, or others.
Vanoxy-M Tablet is a combination medication containing two anti-diabetic drugs: Metformin (a biguanide) and Vildagliptin. Metformin lowers glucose production by the liver, slows down glucose absorption from the intestines, and increases insulin sensitivity in the body. Vildagliptin inhibits DPP4 enzyme activity to enhance insulin release from the pancreas. It is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age.
Yes, Vanoxy-M tablet may lead to lactic acidosis, a medical emergency caused by elevated levels of lactic acid in the blood. This condition is also known as MALA (Metformin-associated lactic acidosis). It is a rare side effect that can occur with metformin use, particularly in patients with pre-existing kidney problems, older adults, or those with high alcohol consumption. Symptoms of lactic acidosis include muscle pain or weakness, dizziness, fatigue, cold sensation in the arms and legs, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or slow heart rate. If you experience these symptoms, stop taking Vanoxy-M tablet and consult your doctor immediately.
Yes, long-term use of Vanoxy-M Tablet can potentially lead to Vitamin B12 deficiency. This is because it hinders the absorption of Vitamin B12 in the stomach.
Vanoxy-M Tablet is generally safe when used as prescribed by your doctor for the duration and dosage they have advised. However, you may experience common side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach upset, headaches, nasal congestion, sore throat, respiratory tract infection, or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in combination with insulin or sulphonylurea. Notify your physician if you experience any ongoing issues while taking this medication.
