UV-Tec Cream is a combination of three medications. Hydroquinone decreases the formation of melanin (pigment) in the skin. It lightens the dark patches of skin. Octinoxate works by absorbing UV rays, thus stopping or at least slowing down the destruction of healthy skin cells. It also decreases the risk of skin cancer and other skin reactions caused by sunburn. Oxybenzone absorbs ultraviolet radiation and prevents it from reaching the deeper layers of the skin.
Along with applying UV-Tec Cream, wear long-sleeved clothing, sunglasses, and hat whenever you step outside in the hot sun for better protection. Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor. Use moisturizer regularly to overcome skin dryness during the course of treatment. You may also use certain safe cosmetics (after consulting with your doctor) in order to lighten pigmentation. Before using UV-Tec Cream, inform your doctor if you have any skin problems or applying any other medicines on your skin.
