Ursolet 150mg Tablet is generally considered a safe and effective medication for gallbladder conditions. However, it may cause some common side effects like diarrhea. If you experience this, your doctor may adjust the dosage or discontinue treatment if necessary. Additionally, long-term use might affect liver enzyme levels. Your doctor will closely monitor these levels throughout your treatment. Despite minor side effects, Ursolet 150mg Tablet is considered a good alternative to surgery in some patients with gallstones.
Ursolet 150mg Tablet acts on the liver by concentrating in the bile secreted from it. This concentration suppresses the production and secretion of cholesterol, leading to decreased cholesterol levels in the bile. It also inhibits cholesterol absorption from the intestines. As a result, the reduced cholesterol saturation in the bile causes gradual dissolution of gallstones, reducing their size and eventually leading to their complete dissolution. Additionally, Ursolet 150mg Tablet protects the liver by increasing bile flow, thereby improving liver cell function.
There is a possibility of weight gain with Ursolet 150mg Tablet, though this is not frequent. This medication may cause weight gain in patients with underlying liver disease associated with the accumulation of bile within the liver's small bile ducts. This condition hinders bile flow from the liver to the intestine. While this risk varies individually depending on the severity of the condition, it's essential to consult your doctor if you experience any unwanted weight changes.
While taking Ursolet 150mg Tablet, avoid using antacids without consulting your doctor as they can reduce the medication's effectiveness. Also, avoid medicines like cholestyramine or colestipol, which can interfere with its effectiveness. Consult your doctor regarding appropriate time intervals between these medications and Ursolet 150mg Tablet. Additionally, avoid taking oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate as they may increase the risk of gallstones and counteract the effects of Ursolet 150mg Tablet.
