Regular monitoring of liver enzyme levels by your doctor can help prevent any complications.
Ursetor 300 Tablet acts on the liver and concentrates in the bile secreted from it. This process suppresses the synthesis and secretion of cholesterol by the liver, reducing cholesterol levels in bile. The medicine also stops the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol, resulting in reduced cholesterol saturation in bile. This leads to the gradual dissolving of cholesterol gallstones, causing them to decrease in size and eventually dissolve. Furthermore, it reduces elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, protecting liver cells.
Yes, there is a chance of weight gain with Ursetor 300 Tablet, but it's not common. This occurs when the medicine is prescribed in patients with liver disease associated with chronic stasis of bile in small bile ducts of the liver. Bile cannot flow from the liver to the small intestine, leading to potential weight gain. The likelihood of weight gain varies among individuals and depends on their condition.
While taking Ursetor 300 Tablet, you should avoid taking antacid preparations without consulting your doctor, as they decrease the effectiveness of this medicine. Additionally, medicines like cholestyramine or colestipol can affect the effectiveness of Ursetor 300 Tablet. It's essential to consult your doctor about maintaining a suitable time gap between taking Ursetor 300 Tablet and these medications. You should also avoid oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate, as they may increase the chances of developing gallstones and act opposite to the action of Ursetor 300 Tablet.
