Urijon 300mg Tablet works by concentrating in the bile secreted from the liver, suppressing the synthesis and secretion of cholesterol by the liver, and reducing cholesterol levels in bile. It also prevents the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol, leading to the gradual dissolution of cholesterol from gallstones and a decrease in their size. Additionally, it reduces elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, thereby protecting liver cells.
Yes, weight gain is a possible side effect of Urijon 300mg Tablet, although it is not common. This medication can cause weight gain in patients with liver disease associated with chronic bile stasis in small bile ducts of the liver. In such cases, bile cannot flow from the liver to the small intestine. The likelihood of weight gain varies from person to person and depends on the underlying disease. Consult your doctor if you experience weight gain while taking Urijon 300mg Tablet.
