Ulyses 450mg Tablet SR works by concentrating in the bile secreted from the liver, suppressing the synthesis and secretion of cholesterol by the liver, and reducing the cholesterol levels in bile. It also prevents the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol, leading to a decrease in cholesterol saturation in the bile and the gradual dissolution of cholesterol from gallstones. Furthermore, Ulyses 450mg Tablet SR increases bile flow through the liver, protecting liver cells and reducing elevated liver enzyme levels.
Yes, weight gain is a possible side effect of Ulyses 450mg Tablet SR, although it is not common. This medication can cause weight gain in patients with liver disease associated with chronic bile stasis in small bile ducts of the liver. In such cases, bile cannot flow from the liver to the small intestine. The likelihood of weight gain varies from person to person, depending on the underlying disease. If you experience weight gain while taking Ulyses 450mg Tablet SR, consult your doctor for guidance.
