Udizit 150mg Tablet works by targeting the liver and concentrating in the bile secreted from the liver. This leads to a reduction in cholesterol synthesis and secretion by the liver, decreasing the levels of cholesterol in bile. The medicine also inhibits the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol. Consequently, reduced cholesterol saturation in the bile causes gradual dissolution of gallstones, resulting in their decrease in size and eventual breakdown. It also helps reduce elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, thereby protecting the liver cells.
Yes, there is a possibility of weight gain when taking Udizit 150mg Tablet. However, this side effect is not very common. In patients with liver disease associated with chronic bile stasis in the small bile ducts of the liver, weight gain may occur. This condition occurs when bile cannot flow from the liver to the small intestine. Weight gain can vary from person to person depending on the underlying cause, so consult your doctor if you experience any weight gain.
