Udilife 300mg Tablet is a hepatoprotective medication. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol in the blood and helps dissolve gallbladder stones that are composed mainly of cholesterol. The timing of Udilife 300mg Tablet administration may differ based on your condition. Your doctor may prescribe 2 to 3 doses per day, with the last dose taken at bedtime. This medication can be taken with water or milk and doesn't require food before taking it. For dissolving gallstones, a single daily dosage is generally prescribed at night. Ideally, this should be taken at 6-hour intervals, for example at 8 am, 2 pm, and 8 pm.
Udilife 300mg Tablet is generally considered a safe and effective medication. However, it may cause some common side effects such as diarrhea. If you experience diarrhea, your doctor may adjust the dosage or discontinue treatment if necessary. Additionally, long-term use of this medicine might affect liver enzyme levels; therefore, your doctor will regularly monitor your liver enzymes to ensure their health.
Udilife 300mg Tablet concentrates in the bile secreted from the liver and suppresses the production of cholesterol by the liver. This, in turn, reduces cholesterol levels within the bile. Furthermore, it prevents the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol. Consequently, reduced cholesterol saturation in the bile promotes the gradual breakdown of gallstones, leading to a decrease in size and eventual dissolution. It also lowers elevated liver enzyme levels by increasing bile flow through the liver, thereby protecting liver cells.
Weight gain is possible with Udilife 300mg Tablet usage. However, it's not common. The medication might increase weight in patients with liver diseases linked to bile stasis and stagnation within the liver's small bile ducts. This can lead to a buildup of bile and impede its flow from the liver to the intestines. Weight gain rates vary from person to person depending on specific conditions; therefore, consult your doctor if you experience any unexplained weight changes.
Avoid taking antacids without consulting your doctor as they can decrease the effectiveness of Udilife 300mg Tablet. Moreover, it is advisable to avoid cholestyramine or colestipol as these medications might decrease Udilife 300mg Tablet's efficacy. Discuss with your doctor about appropriate time intervals between taking Udilife 300mg Tablet and these medications. Additionally, avoid taking oral contraceptives, estrogen-containing medicines, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents like clofibrate, as these may increase the risk of developing gallstones and work counter to Udilife 300mg Tablet.
