Ciclosporin
Udcros 150mg Tablet is a hepatoprotective medication. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol in the blood and helps dissolve gallbladder stones that are composed mainly of cholesterol. It also improves liver enzymes, protects liver cells from injury caused due to toxic bile acids, and improves liver function.

The appropriate timing for taking this medication may vary based on your individual condition. Your doctor might advise you to take two to three doses per day and suggest taking the last dose in the evening. Udcros 150mg Tablet should be taken with water or milk and can be taken with or after food. If prescribed for gallstone treatment, it's generally suggested to take one dose daily at night. Udcros 150mg Tablet is generally considered to be a safe and effective medication. However, some common side effects may occur, including diarrhea. If diarrhea develops, your doctor may reduce the dose or discontinue treatment if necessary. Additionally, long-term use of this medication might affect liver enzyme levels. Your doctor will regularly monitor your liver enzyme levels as part of routine checks. Despite these possible side effects, Udcros 150mg Tablet is considered a suitable alternative to surgery in some patients with gallstones.
Udcros 150mg Tablet acts on the liver and concentrates in bile secreted from the liver. This concentration suppresses the liver's synthesis and secretion of cholesterol, ultimately lowering cholesterol levels in bile. The medication also blocks the intestines from absorbing bile salts and cholesterol. Reduced cholesterol saturation within the bile leads to gradual gallstone dissolution, decreasing their size and eventual complete elimination. The medication also aids by increasing bile flow through the liver, consequently protecting the liver cells.
Weight gain is a possibility with Udcros 150mg Tablet, but it's not frequent. However, in patients with liver disease characterized by chronic bile stasis (bile flow blockage within the small bile ducts of the liver), this medication may contribute to weight gain. In such cases, bile cannot flow efficiently from the liver to the small intestine. Weight gain probability varies across individuals depending on their respective medical conditions. If you experience weight gain after taking Udcros 150mg Tablet, consult your doctor.
When taking Udcros 150mg Tablet, avoid taking antacid preparations without consulting your doctor, as these decrease the medication's effectiveness. Additionally, you should avoid medications like cholestyramine or colestipol, as they affect the effectiveness of Udcros 150mg Tablet. Please discuss with your doctor about appropriate time gaps between Udcros 150mg Tablet and these medications. Lastly, avoid taking oral contraceptives, estrogenic hormones, and blood cholesterol-lowering agents such as clofibrate, as these might increase the likelihood of gallstone development and counteract the effects of Udcros 150mg Tablet.
