Introduction

Tricaine Mps Gel is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early, your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect or be affected by this medicine. Do not take it for more than the recommended duration as long-term administration may have harmful effects on the health.

Tricaine Mps Gel is a combination of four medicines: Oxetacaine, Aluminium Hydroxide, Magnesium, and Simethicone. Oxetacaine is a local anesthetic which provides fast relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach on account of its numbing effect. Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium are antacids which neutralize excess acid in stomach. Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

Take it on an empty stomach preferably 1 hour before a meal It may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help. Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Tricaine Mps Gel as it can cause excessive drowsiness and increase your risk of stomach problems. It may take 4-6 weeks or more for the ulcers to heal completely. Do not stop taking the medicine until your doctor tells you to. Inform your doctor if you experience severe or long-lasting abdominal pain.
