Introduction
Triben Skin Cream is for external use only. You should use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. This medicine should be used regularly to get the most benefit from it. Do not use more than you need as that may cause increased side effects. If your condition goes on for longer than four weeks or gets worse at any time, let your doctor know. The effects of this medicine can be increased by keeping the affected area clean and dry and washing hands before and after treating the infection. If you have an athlete's foot, wash your socks or tights thoroughly and change your shoes daily if possible. Some of the common side effects include skin irritation, redness, or itching at the site of application. If the side effects bother you or do not go away, let your doctor know. Some people have a severe allergic reaction that needs urgent medical attention. Signs of this include rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, swallowing or breathing problems, dizziness and nausea. Get emergency help if this happens. It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction. Frequently asked questions
What is Triben Skin Cream used for?
Triben Skin Cream is an antifungal medication. It's used to treat fungal skin infections, such as ringworm (a red scaly rash on various body parts), athlete's foot (fungal infection of the feet and between toes), nappy rash caused by fungi, and sweat rash. It also relieves irritation in the vulva (external thrush) and the end of the penis which may be associated with thrush.
What specific types of fungi does Triben Skin Cream target?
Triben Skin Cream is effective against Trichophyton species, the fungi responsible for ringworm infections, athlete's foot, and jock itch. It also targets Candida, a yeast often associated with vaginal thrush.
How soon can I expect to see improvement when using Triben Skin Cream?
Skin infection symptoms like itching or soreness may start improving within a few days of treatment. However, redness and scaling might take longer to go away. Don't stop applying the medication before your doctor advises.
What precautions should I take when using Triben Skin Cream?
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying Triben Skin Cream. If you're using it for an infected foot, thoroughly wash and dry your feet before applying the cream, especially between the toes. Apply Triben Skin Cream thinly and evenly, rubbing gently onto the affected areas two or three times daily.
How long should I use Triben Skin Cream?
Treatment duration depends on the type of infection. Generally, tinea infections are treated for a month, and Candida infections require at least 15 days. Don't stop treatment without your doctor's guidance, even if you feel better, as this might allow fungal growth to persist.
Are there any side effects associated with using Triben Skin Cream?
Side effects are generally mild and rare. However, if you experience a burning sensation, redness, or severe itching, stop the medication and contact your doctor.
How should I store Triben Skin Cream?
Store Triben Skin Cream in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Follow the instructions on the package label for proper storage.
