Tormax 50 Tablet is an antiepileptic medication used to treat epilepsy (seizures) and to prevent migraines. It is also used in the treatment of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tormax 50 Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may increase the seizure frequency.
The duration of treatment with Tormax 50 Tablet is individualized and depends on your physician's guidance. It's important to note that Tormax 50 Tablet does not cure seizures or migraines but rather prevents their occurrences, so its use may be required for months or even years.
Tormax 50 Tablet is not indicated for treating anxiety. Please consult your physician before taking the medication.
Serious side effects of Tormax 50 Tablet are rare, but they include glaucoma (difficulty seeing, eye pain, and blurred vision), kidney stones (sharp pain in your sides or lower back), and metabolic acidosis (tiredness, loss of appetite, irregular and faint heartbeat). Other serious side effects may involve suicidal thoughts or insufficient sweating (some children taking Tormax 50 Tablet may not sweat enough in hot weather, causing their body temperatures to rise).
Tormax 50 Tablet does not interfere with the working of valproic acid but increases the risk of hyperammonemia (excess ammonia levels in blood). Increased ammonia levels can lead to difficulty thinking, remembering information or solving problems, decreased alertness, and excessive sleepiness. It's essential to inform your doctor immediately if you experience these symptoms, as they may require immediate medical intervention.
Yes, Tormax 50 Tablet is used for seizure treatment in children over 2 years of age. However, it's not recommended for migraine treatment in children.
