Tormax 100mg Tablet is an antiepileptic medication. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.
Take your medication regularly as directed by your doctor as missing doses can trigger seizures. Do not change the brand of your medicine and make sure that you have sufficient amount of medicine present with you. Practice yoga every day. Get enough sleep at nighttime. Limit the use of screen time such as mobile/laptop. Take your medication on time. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day while taking Tormax 100mg Tablet. This can reduce the risk of kidney stones. Monitor your weight during treatment with this medicine as it can cause weight gain. Talk to your doctor if you notice sudden mood changes or develop suicidal thoughts. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor as it may increase the seizure frequency.
The duration of treatment with Tormax 100mg Tablet depends on the advice of your doctor. This medicine does not cure seizures or migraines, but it prevents them from occurring. Treatment may continue for months or years depending on your symptoms and the response to the medication. You should discuss this timeline with your healthcare provider.
Tormax 100mg Tablet is not indicated for the treatment of anxiety. Please consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Serious side effects from Tormax 100mg Tablet are rare. The potential for serious adverse effects may include glaucoma (difficulty seeing, eye pain, and blurred vision), kidney stones (sharp pain in your sides or lower back), and metabolic acidosis (tiredness, loss of appetite, irregular and faint heartbeat). Other serious side effects of Tormax 100mg Tablet could be suicidal thoughts and insufficient sweating (some children taking Tormax 100mg Tablet may not sweat enough in hot weather, causing their body temperatures to rise).
Tormax 100mg Tablet does not interfere with the working of valproic acid, but it increases the risk of developing high ammonia levels in the blood (hyperammonemia). High ammonia levels can lead to difficulty thinking, remembering information, or solving problems, and may decrease alertness. If you notice these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately. It is important to note that in rare cases, Tormax 100mg Tablet alone can cause hyperammonemia.
Tormax 100mg Tablet is used for treating seizures in children over 2 years of age. However, it's not recommended for use in children for migraines due to limited data.
Weight loss can be a side effect of Tormax 100mg Tablet as it may lead to decreased appetite. However, if you have concerns, consult your doctor for advice.
