Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Topiral 100mg Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Serious side effects of Topiral 100mg Tablet are rare. The potential for serious side effects may include glaucoma (vision changes, eye pain and blurred vision), kidney stones (sharp pain in your sides or lower back) and metabolic acidosis (fatigue, loss of appetite, irregular and faint heartbeat). Other serious side effects could be suicidal thoughts, and insufficient sweating (some children taking Topiral 100mg Tablet may not sweat enough in hot weather, causing their body temperature to rise).
Topiral 100mg Tablet does not interfere with the effectiveness of valproic acid. However, it may increase the risk of getting excess levels of ammonia in the blood (hyperammonemia). Increased levels of ammonia in the blood can pose a serious risk and lead to difficulty thinking, remembering information, solving problems, decreased alertness, and feelings of extreme tiredness or sleepiness. Please immediately report any symptoms like these to your doctor. It is important to note that Topiral 100mg Tablet can cause hyperammonemia by itself in rare cases.
Yes, Topiral 100mg Tablet is prescribed for seizures in children older than 2 years. However, it's not recommended to use this medication for migraines in children.
