Tolter OD 2mg Tablet is used in the treatment of overactive bladder. It relieves urinary symptoms like frequent urination, urgent need to urinate, and inability to control urination.

Tolter OD 2mg Tablet is advised to take it in a dose and duration as per prescription. It can be taken with or without food but take it at the same time regularly. Swallow the medicine as a whole without crushing or chewing it. You should not stop taking the medicine without consulting the doctor as it may lead to the worsening of your symptoms. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy of the medicine. Some common side effects of this medicine include dry mouth, constipation, diarrhea, and headache. Drinking plenty of water might help you cope up with the side effects. It may also make you feel dizzy or sleepy or make your vision blurry so it advised not to drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Consumption of alcohol must be avoided as it can aggravate the side effects. If any of the side effects bother you or persist, consult the doctor without delay.

Patients who experience urinary retention (difficulty passing urine), have delayed emptying of the stomach or blocked intestines (toxic megacolon, ulcerative colitis, pyloric stenosis), or uncontrolled high pressure in the eyes (narrow-angle glaucoma) should avoid this medication. Similarly, patients with muscle disease causing drooping eyelids, double vision, difficulty speaking and swallowing, and sometimes muscle weakness in the arms or legs (myasthenia gravis) must also avoid it.
Discontinuing Tolter OD 2mg Tablet will not have any harmful effects; however, symptoms of overactive bladder may return. You should speak with your doctor about the issue and they can advise you whether or not to stop taking the medicine.
It is unclear if Tolter OD 2mg Tablet causes dementia. However, some reports suggest that when people with dementia were given this medication, their symptoms (confusion, disorientation, and delusions) may have worsened.
