Tojawa Eye Ointment is an antibiotic medicine that is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye (e.g., conjunctivitis) and the eyelids (e.g., blepharitis). It may also help to prevent an infection after an eye injury or surgery.
This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.

Your doctor has prescribed Tojawa Eye Ointment to treat bacterial infections of the eye. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Tojawa Eye Ointment may cause damage to cornea on long-term use. Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop. Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution. Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 mins. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer. Tojawa Eye Ointment may cause damage to cornea on long-term use. Make sure to use it within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
Tojawa Eye Ointment is effective against a wide range of bacteria. The efficacy of Tojawa Eye Ointment is specific to susceptible bacteria. Effective bacteria that can be killed by Tojawa Eye Ointment include, but are not limited to: S. Aureus and S. epidermidis, some species of Streptococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Proteus mirabilis, Morganella morganii, most Proteus vulgaris strains, Haemophilus influenza, and H. aegyptius, Moraxella lacunata, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus, and some Neisseria species. Your doctor will determine if this medication is suitable for your condition.
The duration of treatment with Tojawa Eye Ointment is determined by the severity of your infection. If you have mild to moderate eye infection, your doctor will advise 1-2 drops, 4 times a day, usually. However, in severe infections, your doctor may prescribe 2 drops every hour. Do not use more or less than prescribed by your doctor, and avoid using it more often than your doctor recommends.
Always wash your hands before applying the eye drops. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or any other surface. Tilt your head slightly and instill one drop into your eye, then close it for 2-3 minutes with your head tilted down. Avoid blinking or squinting during this time. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of your eye for approximately one minute to help keep the medication from draining into your tear duct. If you use more than one drop, wait around five minutes before applying the next.
Inform your doctor immediately if you do not feel better after completing the full course of treatment. Also, inform your doctor if your symptoms are worsening while using this medication.
