Tocid Suspension is a combination of two medicines: Magaldrate and Dimethicone. Magaldrate is an inorganic salt that neutralises the excess acid in stomach. Dimethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.
Tocid Suspension should be used only for occasional relief from increased stomach acid. Do not take it for more than 2 weeks unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor. Inform your doctor if you show signs of appendicitis or inflamed bowel (such as lower abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, nausea, vomiting). Avoid taking Tocid Suspension at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines. Incorporate lifestyle changes in order to prevent indigestion, such as making sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water, avoiding spicy and fatty fried food, losing weight if obese, quitting smoking, and not drinking too much alcohol. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
