Tisko Syrup is a medication used to treat symptoms of common cold, hay fever, and other respiratory tract conditions in children.
Syrup
Tisko Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. It is commonly prescribed in children to relieve symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever. These symptoms are usually associated with common cold, hay fever (allergic rhinitis), and other respiratory tract conditions.
Tisko Syrup is for oral use only. Shake the bottle well before use. Use the measuring cup provided to measure the correct dose. Do not give Tisko Syrup to children under 2 years of age without consulting a doctor.
Tisko Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Cetirizine, Paracetamol, and Phenylephrine. Cetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks histamine (a chemical messenger) to relieve allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer) that blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that are responsible for pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
Do not give Tisko Syrup if your child is less than 2 years of age. Consult your child’s doctor before giving such medicines. Tisko Syrup may make your child feel sleepy. Ensure your child takes extra care when taking part in physical activities. Never combine Tisko Syrup with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects. Stop Tisko Syrup and immediately report to the doctor if your child develops an itchy rash, facial swelling, or breathing difficulties. Practice self-care tips: clean and disinfect surfaces after sneezing and coughing, give your child plenty of fluids, restrain your child from having caffeinated products and foods that are spicy and fried, make your child gargle with warm saltwater, and ensure your child takes enough rest.
A common cold is usually self-limiting and lasts about a week. If your child needs comfort, consult with their doctor for the best approach to facilitate recovery. However, contact your child's doctor if their symptoms don't improve or worsen. A persistent cough could indicate a more serious condition like bronchitis or asthma.
Excessive intake of Tisko Syrup may lead to serious side effects such as seizures, psychiatric symptoms, urinary retention, shaking hands, blurred vision, severe abdominal pain, and rapid heart rate. In such cases, contact your child's doctor immediately.
It is important to tell your child's doctor about all other medications they are taking before starting Tisko Syrup. Additionally, always seek your child's doctor's advice before giving any medication to your child.
Avoid giving Tisko Syrup to children with a seizure disorder. Additionally, avoid this medicine in children with cardiovascular disease (hypertension, heart disease), diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal obstruction, increased intraocular pressure, urinary obstruction, or thyroid dysfunction. Inform your child's doctor about their medical history and consult them before administering any medication.
Tisko Syrup may cause mild drowsiness in children, making them feel tired. However, this medicine should not be used to induce sleep. A child's natural sleep patterns are best followed, and it is recommended to consult with your child's doctor before administering Tisko Syrup for any medical reason.
Store Tisko Syrup at room temperature in a dry place away from direct sunlight or heat. Ensure all medicines are kept out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
