Introduction
Tipanat 8.19mg/20mg Tablet should be taken with food but try to have it at the same time every day to get the most benefit. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to. The most common side effects of this medicine include anemia, neutropenia, fatigue, nausea, thrombocytopenia, decreased appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. If any of these side effects bother you, let your doctor know. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood cells along with liver functioning. Many other medicines can affect or be affected by this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.

How it works
Tipanat 8.19mg/20mg Tablet is a combination of two anticancer medications. Trifluridine suppresses DNA synthesis and stops the growth of cancer cells. Tipiracil slows down the degradation of trifluridine in the body.
Quick Tips
Avoid the use of antacids within two hours of taking this medicine. Drink plenty of water every 24 hours after the start of the treatment. You may be at risk of infection so try to avoid crowds or people with colds and report fever or any other signs of infection immediately to your doctor. To help treat/prevent mouth sores use a soft toothbrush and rinse your mouth at least 3 times a day with saline water. To reduce nausea take anti-nausea medications as prescribed by your doctor and eat small frequent meals. Eat foods that may help reduce diarrhea and take adequate rest. Use contraceptives and do not conceive a child (get pregnant) while taking Tipanat 8.19mg/20mg Tablet.
