How it works
Tikliv-M Syrup contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.

Frequently asked questions
My child is experiencing a persistent cough alongside allergic symptoms. Can I administer cough and allergy medicines together?
No. Do not combine cough and allergy medications as they often contain similar ingredients. This may lead to double dosing of active components, potentially causing serious side effects.
Can I reduce the Tikliv-M Syrup dosage on my child's own if their condition improves?
No, adhere to the prescribed dose as directed by your child's healthcare provider. Do not increase or decrease the dosage independently as this can negatively impact their health. While increasing the dosage may lead to unwanted effects like sedation and depression, decreasing the dosage or abruptly discontinuing it could result in a rebound of all symptoms.
How should Tikliv-M Syrup be stored?
Tikliv-M Syrup should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
Does Tikliv-M Syrup cause drowsiness in my child?
Tikliv-M Syrup causes mild drowsiness, which can make your child feel sleepy. However, never use this medicine to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorders like insomnia.
Can I start Tikliv-M Syrup therapy before my child's sports event in the next two days?
No, consult your child’s doctor before starting Tikliv-M Syrup. Additionally, Tikliv-M Syrup can impair performance by causing mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. Therefore, it is best to discuss with the doctor first.
Should I stop taking Tikliv-M Syrup on my own?
No, do not stop Tikliv-M Syrup abruptly without consulting your child's healthcare provider. All symptoms may reappear upon sudden withdrawal and this can be worse if taken for a long time. Therefore, it is recommended to discontinue the medicine gradually under your doctor’s guidance.
My child has a mood disorder; can I give Tikliv-M Syrup to them?
There are studies indicating that Tikliv-M Syrup may cause mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and difficulties with controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child's doctor before giving any medication.
Can I use Tikliv-M Syrup for treating acute asthma attacks in my child?
Tikliv-M Syrup is solely intended for preventing asthma attacks. It should not be used to halt a current attack. Use your child's reliever medicine to assist with an ongoing attack.
