Thrombowock Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Benzyl Nicotinate and Heparin. Benzyl Nicotinate is a vasodilator and Heparin is an anticoagulant. Together they work by widening the blood vessels and dissolving/preventing the formation of blood clots. This increases blood flow to the affected area thereby relieving the associated symptoms. It is also used to treat bruises and hematoma (collection of blood under the skin). It speeds up the dissolution of the blood clot decreasing the pain and swelling. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine is for external use only. The affected area must be clean and dry before applying this medicine. Make sure to wash your hands before and after applying this medicine.
