How it works
Thiosta-AP Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Thiocolchicoside) and two pain relievers (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles. The pain relievers work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Older adults may have increased drowsiness, confusion, and higher risk of falling as a result of taking Thiosta-AP Tablet. Do not take it with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.

Frequently asked questions
Can the use of Thiosta-AP Tablet be stopped when my pain is relieved?
Thiosta-AP Tablet is usually taken for short periods and can be discontinued when pain relief is achieved. However, Thiosta-AP Tablet must continue as advised by the doctor.
Are there any specific contraindications associated with the use of Thiosta-AP Tablet?
Thiosta-AP Tablet is contraindicated for patients with known allergies to painkillers or any component or excipient. It should also be avoided in individuals with a history of stomach ulcers, active or recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding, heart failure, high blood pressure, or liver or kidney disease.
Can Thiosta-AP Tablet be taken with vitamin B-complex?
Yes, Thiosta-AP Tablet can be taken concurrently with vitamin B-complex preparations. While Thiosta-AP Tablet provides pain relief, vitamin B-complex may address any vitamin deficiency contributing to the symptoms.
Can the use of Thiosta-AP Tablet cause damage to kidneys?
Long-term use of Thiosta-AP Tablet can potentially lead to kidney damage. This is because it lowers prostaglandins, chemicals naturally produced by the body that protect kidneys, leading to increased risk on long-term use. Individuals with pre-existing kidney conditions should avoid its use.
Will Thiosta-AP Tablet be more effective if taken in higher doses?
Taking higher doses of this medicine will not enhance its effectiveness and may even lead to increased side effects. If symptoms worsen, consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
Can the use of Thiosta-AP Tablet cause damage to liver?
Thiosta-AP Tablet contains Paracetamol. Paracetamol can be harmful to the liver, especially in doses exceeding recommended levels. Additionally, avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication as it may exacerbate liver risks. Individuals with pre-existing liver disease should avoid its use and seek immediate medical attention if signs of liver damage appear: fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellowing of skin or eyes, and abnormal liver enzymes.
What are the instructions for storage and disposal of Thiosta-AP Tablet?
Store this medicine in its original container, tightly closed. Follow the storage instructions on the packaging label. Do not share or give this medicine to pets, children, or others.
