Any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold)
Thiocep MR Tablet is a combination of a muscle relaxant (Thiocolchicoside) and two pain relievers (Aceclofenac and Paracetamol). The muscle relaxant works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and improve movement of muscles. The pain relievers work by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).
You have been prescribed Thiocep MR Tablet to relieve pain due to muscle spasm. This medicine is most effective when taken along with proper rest and physical therapy. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Thiocep MR Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness and increase the risk of liver damage. Older adults may have increased drowsiness, confusion, and higher risk of falling as a result of taking Thiocep MR Tablet. Do not take it with any other medicine containing acetaminophen (drugs for pain/fever or cough-and-cold) without asking your doctor first.
Thiocep MR Tablet is usually used for short-term relief and can be discontinued when your pain subsides. However, continuing this medication as prescribed by your doctor is crucial.
Individuals with known allergy to painkillers or components of Thiocep MR Tablet should avoid its use. It is also advised against use in patients with: * A history of stomach ulcers * Active or recurrent stomach ulcer/bleeding * A history of heart failure, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease
Yes, Thiocep MR Tablet can be taken concurrently with vitamin B-complex preparations. While this medication aids in pain relief, vitamin B-complex supplements help address potential vitamin deficiencies contributing to your symptoms.
Prolonged use of Thiocep MR Tablet can potentially lead to kidney damage. These medications lower prostaglandins in the body, which normally protect kidneys from harm, leading to potential long-term kidney problems. Those with pre-existing kidney conditions should avoid this medication.
Increasing the dosage of Thiocep MR Tablet does not enhance its effectiveness, rather it may increase side effects. If your symptoms worsen, consult your doctor for further evaluation and potential dose adjustments.
Thiocep MR contains Paracetamol, which can be harmful to the liver at doses exceeding the recommended amount. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication, as it may exacerbate liver damage risks. Use of this medication should be avoided in patients with pre-existing liver diseases. If you experience any early signs or symptoms of liver damage (fever, rash, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, stomach pain, dark urine, yellow skin or eyes and abnormal liver enzymes), contact your doctor immediately.
