Tevoflo-D Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Tamsulosin and Dutasteride, which relieves the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker. It works by relaxing the muscle around the bladder exit and prostate gland so as to allow easy passage of urine. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor which helps in shrinking the prostate gland by decreasing the level of the hormone which helps the prostate gland grow.

Frequently asked questions
Is Tevoflo-D Tablet effective?
Tevoflo-D Tablet is effective when used as directed by your doctor. Do not stop taking it, even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Tevoflo-D Tablet too early, your symptoms may return or worsen.
Can the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet cause dizziness?
Yes, the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet can cause dizziness. This is due to the combination of Tamsulosin and Dutasteride in the medication. Tamsulosin can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when changing posture from lying to sitting or standing (orthostatic hypotension). This sudden drop can lead to dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, spinning sensations and vertigo. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, avoid driving or operating machinery. Rest for some time until you feel better.
What are the cautions associated with the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet?
Tevoflo-D Tablet is not recommended for men under 18 years of age as it may affect the normal development of the male reproductive tract. It can also be harmful for patients with known allergies to any component of the medication, and for pregnant or potentially pregnant women. It's important to note that pregnant women should not even handle Tevoflo-D Tablet as the medicine might be absorbed through the skin and cause harm to the fetus.
Is Tevoflo-D Tablet safe?
Tevoflo-D Tablet is considered safe when used in the recommended dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Take it exactly as directed and do not skip any doses. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully, and let them know if any side effects bother you.
Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?
No, Tevoflo-D Tablet should be taken only in the recommended dose. Overdosing can increase the risk of side effects. Always follow the prescribed dosage and duration by your doctor.
What is the storage condition for Tevoflo-D Tablet?
Keep this medicine in its original container or pack, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions on the package label. Dispose of unused medication properly and ensure that it's not consumed by pets, children, or other individuals.
Can the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet cause ejaculation problems?
Retrograde ejaculation (semen does not leave the body, instead goes into the bladder) and ejaculation failure (reduced or absent ejaculation volume) are common problems associated with the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet. However, these issues usually happen when the medication is consumed in high doses.
Can the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet cause priapism (persistent painful penile erection unrelated to sexual activity)?
Yes, the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet can cause priapism (painful penile erection). This is a serious but rare side effect. However, if left untreated, it may lead to permanent impotence.
Can the use of Tevoflo-D Tablet impact my cataract surgery?
The use of Tevoflo-D Tablet can cause floppy eye syndrome. This occurs when the muscles in the iris become floppy and the pupil constricts unexpectedly during cataract surgery. It's important to tell your ophthalmologist (eye surgeon) if you are taking this medication or if you have used it within the past nine months, as they may need to adjust the course of treatment.
Apart from taking medicines, what should I do to manage my prostate symptoms?
Simple lifestyle changes can help you manage your prostate symptoms better. Try to urinate when you feel an urge. However, avoid straining or pushing while urinating. Avoid drinking fluids (especially alcohol, caffeine) a few hours before bedtime or going out. You should also avoid medications that worsen urinary symptoms, such as some over-the-counter medicines for colds and coughs.
