Frequently asked questions
What is Tero 2500mcg Injection?
Tero 2500mcg Injection contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that the body needs to make red blood cells and maintain a healthy nervous system. It also helps release energy from food, using vitamin B11 (folic acid).
Why may I not be getting enough vitamin B12 in my diet?
You can obtain vitamin B12 from sources such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. However, vegetarians and vegans might lack sufficient vitamin B12 because it's not naturally found in fruits, vegetables, or grains.
What happens if I have a deficiency of vitamin B12?
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to fatigue, weakness, constipation, loss of appetite, weight loss, and megaloblastic anemia (an abnormal increase in red blood cells). It may also cause nerve problems such as numbness and tingling in the hands and feet. Other symptoms might include balance issues, depression, confusion, dementia, poor memory, sore mouth or tongue.
Is Tero 2500mcg Injection safe?
Tero 2500mcg Injection is generally well tolerated and considered safe. However, rare side effects like nausea, diarrhea, anorexia, and rash might occur. Discontinue using this medicine immediately if you experience a rash.
How should Tero 2500mcg Injection be administered?
Tero 2500mcg Injection can be injected directly into a vein (intravenously) or into a muscle (intramuscularly). The usual dose is one ampoule (0.5 mg of Tero 2500mcg Injection), given three times a week. After two months, one ampoule (0.5 mg of Tero 2500mcg Injection) is administered every one to three months as part of maintenance therapy.
What precautions should be taken when administering Tero 2500mcg Injection?
When administering the injection, avoid using the same injection site each time. If you experience severe pain during injection or if blood flows back into the syringe, remove the needle and re-insert at a different site.
