Introduction
Termont-L Kid Tablet is commonly prescribed in children to treat symptoms of allergy such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, swelling, congestion, and watery eyes. It may also help in the treatment of asthma and skin allergies.
Directions for Use
Termont-L Kid Tablet should be used as directed by your child's doctor. It is important to follow the dosage instructions carefully and not to stop the medication without consulting your doctor.
How it works
Termont-L Kid Tablet contains Levocetirizine and Montelukast. Together these two relieve sneezing and runny nose caused due to allergies. Levocetirizine is an antiallergic that blocks a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist that works by blocking another chemical messenger (leukotriene). This reduces inflammation (swelling) in the airways and nose and improves symptoms.
Quick Tips
Never combine Termont-L Kid Tablet with other cold and flu medicines as that may have side effects. Termont-L Kid Tablet helps prevent asthma attacks. Never use it to stop an attack that has already started as it will not help. If you are giving Termont-L Kid Tablet to your child for asthma or allergy, you need not give another dose to prevent exercise-induced breathing problems. In case of any confusion, consult your child's doctor as soon as possible. Make sure that you always have enough medicine. Practice self-care tips: Abstain your child from coming in contact with allergens, encourage your child to wear a face mask and avoid dusty places, give plenty of fluids as it helps in thinning and loosening the mucus in the lungs.

Frequently asked questions
Can I give my child cough and allergy medication together, or do they need separate medications?
No. Do not mix cough and allergy medicines because they usually both contain similar ingredients. Mixing these medicines may lead to double dosing of the active ingredients, which can cause serious side effects.
If my child starts feeling better while taking Termont-L Kid Tablet, can I decrease the dosage on my own?
No. Adhere to the dose as prescribed by your child's doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose without consulting their healthcare provider because this could impact your child's health negatively.
How should Termont-L Kid Tablet be stored?
Termont-L Kid Tablet should be stored at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct heat and light. Always keep all medications out of the reach and sight of children to prevent accidental intake.
Does Termont-L Kid Tablet cause drowsiness?
Termont-L Kid Tablet causes mild drowsiness which can make your child sleepy. However, never give this medicine to your child to induce sleep. Forced sleep could mask any underlying sleep disorder.
Can I start the course of Termont-L Kid Tablet if my child is about to participate in a sports event?
No. Do not start Termont-L Kid Tablet without speaking to your child's doctor. Moreover, it may impact their performance by causing mild sedation, dizziness, and sleepiness. Consult the doctor first.
Can I stop taking the medicine abruptly?
No. It is strongly advised not to stop Termont-L Kid Tablet suddenly. Stopping medication suddenly can lead to a rebound effect, where symptoms return quickly and potentially worsen.
My child experiences mood disorders, are there any safe medicines for this condition?
Termont-L Kid Tablet has been linked to causing mood disorders, hallucinations, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, shakiness, and trouble controlling body movements. Therefore, consult your child's doctor before administering any medicine.
Can I use Termont-L Kid Tablet for treating an acute asthma attack?
Termont-L Kid Tablet is only intended for preventing asthma attacks. It should not be used to stop an attack that has already started. Use a reliever medicine (rescue inhaler) designed specifically for managing acute asthma attacks.
