Tablet
Telzox-AM Tablet contains two medicines, both of which help to control high blood pressure. It lowers the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and making it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This will reduce your risk of having a heart attack or a stroke.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telzox-AM Tablet may be taken with or without food but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Telzox-AM Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and Amlodipine. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Together they lower blood pressure effectively.
Telzox-AM Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. It may cause you to feel lightheaded or weak especially when you stand up. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Avoid consuming alcohol as it may enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of this medicine. It can cause ankle or foot swelling. Raise your legs while you are sitting down and talk to your doctor if it does not go away. Do not take Telzox-AM Tablet if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
You should avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless advised by your doctor. Additionally, avoid alcohol consumption as it may further lower your blood pressure and potentially cause side effects. Staying hydrated is also important; drink fluids during exercise and in hot weather to prevent dehydration. The medicine may make you dizzy, so avoid driving, using machinery, or performing tasks requiring concentration until you understand how it affects you. If you feel dizzy, lie down to prevent fainting. Then sit for a few moments before standing to help manage dizziness.
Taking too much Telzox-AM Tablet may lead to symptoms like low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, weakness, vomiting, and rapid heartbeat. In some cases, slow heartbeat, reduced kidney function (including potential kidney failure), such as reduced urine output, have also been reported. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your doctor immediately for medical attention.
Even if your blood pressure is successfully lowered by this medication, it's recommended to continue taking it. Stopping the medication could cause your blood pressure to rise again as it only helps in controlling your condition and doesn't cure it. You might need to take it for life, and keeping your blood pressure under control reduces your risk of a heart attack or stroke.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's close to your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one as planned. Don't double dose to compensate for the missed dose. To help yourself remember, set an alarm if necessary. Consult your doctor if you're unsure about managing doses.
It is important not to abruptly stop taking Telzox-AM Tablet without consulting your doctor first. Stopping it may lead to a rise in blood pressure, putting you at higher risk for heart attack or stroke. If you experience any side effects such as dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, etc., talk to your doctor.
Telzox-AM Tablet is generally considered safe for extended use. Follow your doctor's instructions and guidance.
You may require to take this medication for a long period, even life-long. This medicine only helps control your blood pressure until you continue its use. Therefore, it is advisable to keep taking the medication and follow your doctor's recommendations.
High blood pressure often doesn't show symptoms, so you might not notice improvement right away. That doesn't mean you should stop taking the medication; it's working silently in the background to reduce your risk of serious complications.
Telzox-AM Tablet may rarely cause erectile dysfunction (inability to get or maintain an erection). If you have concerns, talk to your doctor. Remember that regular medication use and managing blood pressure levels will help in improving both overall health and sexual function.
Lifestyle plays a major role in staying healthy if you're on Telzox-AM. Reduce your salt intake, find ways to manage stress (yoga, meditation, hobbies), ensure sufficient sleep (good sleep helps control blood pressure and overall health). Stop smoking and alcohol consumption; these can help lower blood pressure and prevent heart problems. Regular exercise and a balanced diet (whole grains, fruits, veggies, fat-free products) will benefit you further.
