Introduction
Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup is an antibiotic medicine that helps treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin, and urinary tract. It is capable of killing bacteria that have become resistant to other therapies and thus also helps treat tuberculosis that is resistant to other treatments.
Directions for Use
Your child must complete the entire course of antibiotics. Stopping too soon may cause the bacteria to multiply again or cause another infection.
How it works
Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

Frequently asked questions
Can other medicines be given at the same time as Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup?
Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup may interact with other medications or substances. It is important to inform your child's doctor about all medications they are taking before starting this medication. Additionally, please consult with your child's doctor before administering any medication to your child.
Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup?
Antibiotics do not typically interfere with vaccine ingredients or cause adverse reactions in children who have recently been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not receive a vaccine until they recover from the illness. Once your child feels better, it is safe to administer the vaccine.
Which lab tests may my child undergo while taking Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup on a long-term basis?
During prolonged therapy, periodic checks of kidney and liver function might be recommended by the doctor to ensure your child's well-being.
Can I give a higher than the recommended dose of Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup to my child?
Giving a higher dose of this medicine can increase the risk of side effects. If your child experiences increased severity of symptoms, please contact their doctor for reevaluation.
Can I stop giving Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup to my child when the symptoms are relieved?
It's crucial to not stop this medicine before completing the full course, even if you feel better. Symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Therefore, continue administering the medication as prescribed to ensure proper treatment.
Can the use of Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup cause diarrhea?
Yes, Tekkie Kid Dry Syrup can cause diarrhea. This is because it's an antibiotic that kills harmful bacteria. Additionally, the medicine may also affect the helpful bacteria in your child's stomach and result in diarrhea. If your child experiences diarrhea, encourage them to drink plenty of fluids or alternative beverages. Consult your doctor immediately if diarrhea persists and you notice any signs of dehydration, such as infrequent urination with dark-colored and strong-smelling urine. Avoid giving your child any other medication without consulting their doctor.
Do all viral common colds result in secondary bacterial infection?
Generally, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections, meaning they don't typically spread from a viral to bacterial infection. In fact, giving antibiotics in a viral infection can increase your child's risk of side effects. It is crucial to use antibiotics only after consultation with their doctor.
The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
Yellow or green mucus in the nose does not necessarily indicate a need for antibiotics. It's normal for mucus to thicken during a common cold and change color from clear to yellow or green. Symptoms often last for 7-10 days.
Is there any sign which shows that my child needs immediate medical attention?
You must contact your child's doctor immediately if they experience severe allergic reactions (trouble breathing, skin rashes), gastrointestinal complications (diarrhea), or liver damage (weakness, paleness, vomiting). These symptoms are serious and require expert medical attention.
